  • Division champion, third seed in the American League
  • Playoff experience: Beat Toronto Blue Jays 2-0 in Wild Card Round, lost to Houston Astros 3-1 in Division Round

  • Head Coach: Rocco Baldelli

They finally made the playoffs last season, but it wasn't enough to get the fans excited. The key player for the Twins in the new season: Pablo Lopez, starting pitcher. In today's era of low batting averages, Lopez proved himself with the best performance of his career and an All-Star selection. The Twins acquired him in exchange for Alez. Lopez's arsenal is quite rich: a four-seam fastball, sinker, slider, curveball, and changeup, each with excellent quality and control. Lopez deserves more big stages to showcase his ace style.
Byron Buxton, a center fielder. The star who suffered the most serious injuries in the major leagues may be Buxton. In the 2017 season, the peak of his career, he played 140 games. His defensive statistics can only be described as staggering. However, Buxton has been with the Twins for 9 years, and this is the only time he has reached triple digits in games played. The Twins desperately need Buxton to bring double carry, and Minnesota fans desperately hope that their true number one player can deliver at full capacity. Royce Lewis, third baseman The 2017 first-round pick played briefly in 58 games last year, hitting .309/.372/.548. He was particularly good at taking advantage of opportunities with men on base, hitting four grand slams in just 20 days. In the Twins' season opener, Lewis hit the ground running and helped the team get off to a good start.
